Strat PaaS

(Strategy Partner as a Service)

What's the value of the right decision at the right time?

The core of my strategy work is about providing an independent, honest, and experienced partner at the table when you need it. Success is often about timing and speed. And while you are the best person to make a key decision, it doesn't mean you've had the opportunity to consider all the possibilities. Where coaching is about building you, my strategy practice is about the right decisions for your company. Through lived experience, aligned stakeholders, and industry best practices, we can move from information to insight.

“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” - Sun Tzu

It can be lonely at (or near) the top. That's not just an emotional burden, but a challenge to effective decision making. Yet, finding the right thought partner has many barriers: co-founders, other executives, and board members have complex vested relationships; other employees have information sharing and privacy limitations; outside advisors and investors are not always informed enough to provide a useful contribution. Having an independent, honest, and experienced advisor can not only transform the experience of making the right decision, but ensure that you've done what's necessary to get it right.

How does it work?

I can partner with an owner, CEO, investor, or support an entire leadership team. We'll start with a cohesion call, exploring both the business dynamics, while also considering the full context of the people behind them. If there's a fit, we'll begin the three step process outlined below: building context, designing for outcomes, and getting to solutions. Most engagements are typically in 6 month terms, where the value continues to multiply as the shared knowledge and relationships deepen.

Strat PaaS Process

01

Build Context

We understand the importance of adding value quickly, which means there's some heavily lifting up front. Typically, we will meet with you or designated members of your team for 1 on 1 conversations and perform a key document review related to your business and/or the issues at hand.

02

Design For Outcomes

I design for strategic outcomes that we identify and work toward over the arc of the engagement, though much of the value in the Strat Paas model is in being up to speed enough to address emergent issues.. We will discuss and identify outcomes for our engagement and check in on them regularly through our work to be sure we're on track.

03

Regular Engagement + More...

Having regular engagement is critical. We will set a cadence of weekly, bi-weekly or monthly calls, to address emergent issues, maintain a current pulse on the business, and make progress toward our outcomes. Additionally, we know you don't always control the timeline, so we're available for support on short notice.
